ஸ்ரீ மாரியம்மன் சன்னதியில் பொங்கல் வைத்து ஸ்ரீ முருகப்பெருமானுக்கு மூல மந்திரம், மாலா மந்திர ஹோமம் செய்து விசேஷ அபிஷேகம் மற்றும் அலங்காரம் செய்து விசேஷ பூஜையும் பொங்கல் பூஜையும் செய்யப்படும். பூ மாலை வரிசை எடுத்து ஸ்ரீ முருகபெருமானுக்கு சோடஷோபசார பூஜை செய்து ஆலயம் வலம் வந்து அதன் பிறகு ஆலயம் வழக்கம் போல் பௌர்ணமி பால்குட அபிஷேகம் நடைபெறும்.

Pongal (Sweetened rice) is made at the Mariamman sanctum. The Moolamantram, Malamantram Homams (fire sacrifice ritual), special Abhishegam (sacred bath), Alangkaaram (ornamentation) and Poojai (worship),  as well as Pongal Pooja are performed for Lord Sri Murugan. Shodashopaachaara Poojai (Sixteen fold worship) is peformed, followed by  procession around the Temple and Pournami Paalkudam Abhishegam (Full moon day sacred bath where the deity is bathed with the milk from milk pots carried by devotees).
